Coats, coats & more coats

Hi everyone

Me again, school has gone back and I miss those days of waking up at 12PM and going to sleep at 1AM, watching movie marathons of Harry Potter and lying about reading. My favourite hobby by far over the holidays though is internet window shopping. If there was a medal for internet window shopping I would have a trophies case full of them. Not only do I spend hours trawling for a good deal I make sure everyone knows that's what I'm doing.

Some might call me annoying to be in the same room when I embark on my shopping adventures because I continuously ask questions like, "Do you like this?", "Do you think this would suit me?" and the ever constant, "Will you lend me a million dollars?" (however, this is usually met with a unanimous eye roll).

But lately my browsing has had a purpose because I've decided that I'm going to spend my Westfield voucher on a new winter coat. I'm not sure which kind but have narrowed it down to the following options from Sheike.

The Eclipse coat is very unique and stylish as it has the length of a full coat although I appears that it the bottom part could be zipped off. The most import part of my wardrobe is that I feel everything should be versatile, like this coat. It has a luxurious two texture feel, however I don't know if I really need another black coat. It comes it stone but I think the colour makes it look a little cheap.

This coat, also by Sheike feels a little more casual which I think is nice in winter. It's got a beautiful delicate texture and has a relaxed chic look about it. This one is called the Spectrum coat and is cheaper than the other coats which is always a plus in my books. However, the sleeve are three quarter length and being a tiny girl, I get very cold. But I can't help but want it (will someone give me a million dollars?).

I really love the colour of this jacket. I'm not always a fan of white jackets because I feel they are really hard to keep clean. The only thing I really can't stand about this coat is the weird sailor moon cape thingy it has going on at the back. I'm not really sure what they were thinking when they made this. From the front it looks like anyone wearing it would look really hunched over, such a shame because without the cape it would be a winner in my books.

At $170.00 this coat, the Elite coat, is the cheapest full length coat (I say cheap because I'd only be spending $70). The shape is absolutely gorgeous and a double breasted coat is always a good thing to have. It's got a lovely elegance about it with a cute flirty hem. Although, again, do I really need another black coat? For this one, I think yes!

This coat set me on my Sheike coat hunt. It's such a unique colour, the website describes it as Oatmeal which I think is a terrible description because Oatmeal looks like barf and this coat certainly doesn't look like that. It's a beautiful rose colour and the gold buttons add so much character to it but I don't know if it'll fit in with my already existing wardrobe. It would brighten up my winter outfits though, but in a good way? I'd need to try it on.

This coat is beautiful, this is a bold colour but I'm not sure if I would wear it as often as the other one, especially when it's $220.00. A hefty cost per wear if I only wear it once a week. It looks really bulky too and I think it would overwhelm my small frame. I think I'll definitely have to try this on in person.

Anyway, back to dreamland of clothes!

  1. Good idea to spend it on a coat... I always love red when it comes to winter coats, I adore how bold and bright they are and how they can be such statement pieces. The coat I really want right now is from Alannah Hill but it costs $569...so sad.
